Archery: Bows of the Kingdoms

Bows of the Kingdom

Many of ranger prefer the use of a bow at long range, yet many are unenlightned about the different type of bows. There is truly nothing like pulling back on the firm strings and hearing the wood settle on a new bow, or pulling back the strings and recieving that easily bending but firm feel of the bows staff in your hands. There are few bows which survived in the kingdom today unfortunately. In fact, there are only 4 bows which are known to still be in existense that can be bought, sold, or found. This parchment will explain the different bows found in the kingdoms as of today.

[_Spring Bow_] This is a very light bow, you get what you pay for. It is crude, only being a small oak branch binded by some cloth. This is a very simplistic piece of equipment and everyone can use one in the early insights. Most users of this bow complain of blistering due there is no hand grips in the center staff position.

[_Short Bow_] This is a very versatile weapon, The sonhi were rumored to use these to take over kingdoms when they could not rely on thier spears. This bow is of fine craftsman ship with the materials used. It is a Elm branch bound by fine quality threads, with steel cams adapted on both top and lower portions of the Bow staff. With these materials used one has to be quite hardy to lift this weapon, much less pull back the tightly coiled threads.

[_Snap Bow_] This is a prized possesion by most, its bulky so dont expect to be protected well by it. These are old bows, it shows the craftsmanship when you see them still being used today. The numbers of these bows are dwindling and falling into private collections or use them for jobs where a regular bow could fail. Only thoughs who follow the paths of rogues can use this fine piece of equipment. Its simply a light wieght birch staff with quality stringing, and cams made of slag. Its the rarity and performance which make these bows, not the looks.

[_Nagnag Bow_] Quite possibly the lightest, most easily used bow. It is made of a alloy as of all the master smith "nagnag" weapons are composed of. The strings are spun very tightly, making it the only drawback and need of hefty muscles to use. The alloy is so fine it shatters like glass when it is uncarefully dropped during the event of a death. Numbers of these bows are dropping due to uncareful people, but in the hands of a skilled archer, its accuracy is quite superb. These were issued in mass to Blights soldiers during the invasions.

------------------------------------------------------------------------In addition, all the bows are different, but what bow is right for you?

1)If you are looking for a liesure past time with bows, In all respect get a spring quality bow staff.

2) If you are of the stronger variety, and wish for a reliable bow to kill predators from afar or general protection, get a Short bow staff,

3) If you wish for rare and or exotic bows, save up for a Nagnag bow, or ultimately the Snap bow. They serve great in combat, but bows grand as these in my opinion should be preserved for history.
