Archery: Tournament Standards

Archery Tournament Standards

Ranger Games Document

Interested in holding an Archery game between you and your friends? Or are you a host looking to host their first
Archery tournament and afraid of screwing up? Here's how you do it.

-Regulation Tournaments supply Sleep Arrows to their participants to give most everyone a fair chance.

-Spring armor types are worn, as the better the armor, the better it repels the sleep powder. We want both
archers to fare an even chance.

-No hand items are worn either.

-The same applies for helmets.

-The playing field is usually an ((11x9 tile)) arena.

-Players are allowed to walk on the borders.

-Traditionally, there is a centerpiece in the very center of the field. Duelists cannot walk here. The centerpiece is usually solid too, to block arrows, but when games are held outside our Renegade's Retreat, it can vary.

-Absolutely no traps. This is a test of skill.

-Between rounds, the field is usually scanned for traps, just in case. This is optional, but a good security measure to foil cheaters.

-Participating archers are set in opposite corners prior to the round's start. It is usually done by two archers at a time, in a bracket setup.

-Archers are given three counts before they start dueling.

-The winner of a match is usually determined by the best two out of three. In case of short arrow stock, one round matches.

-The loser of a round is the first person to fall victim to the sleeping powder on a sleep arrow.
The winner, is of course, the person who shot said arrow.

That should be all you need to know.
