The most delicate skill of a Ranger is easily that of Trapping. In Trapping, you don't get a second chance to go back and reset your placement. You have one chance to place your traps, and hope that you've chosen a good spot to place them. Then, you get to see how it worked out; if you did a good job, those trying to attack you, or your home, are stopped dead (or otherwise) in their tracks.
Here's what you need to know if you're going to define yourself as a trapping specialist: traps, uses, patterns of people, patterns ofanimals, and quick set-ups. You'll get to know traps and their uses in the next page, a compilation of all the standard traps used in the kingdoms. As for the patterns people and animals make, to clarify, you want to know how each attacks, along with different situations. A person sneaking to attack you will be caught by a trap differently than one who would be charging straight at you. Setting up traps quickly... well... that comes with time.
Trapping is a skill that becomes more refined with time.

Prediction. To sense where someone will be as from predicting where he or she is now is the main idea of trapping. You can lay many traps..but it won't do any good for you if they don't spring it. If you get into the habit of sensing your target's movement, you can then lay a single trap and that will spell victory. To survive is to know exactly where the enemy will be as to where the enemy is.
